How to Clean Your Masonic Ring

First, wipe any visible tarnish off of the ring with a soft, clean cloth. While a jewelry cloth works best, you can also use a clean wash cloth.

Second, plug the sink and fill it with cool to warm water. For gold, put a few drops of ammonia into the water and soak the ring for two to three minutes. You can also use rubbing alcohol to get rid of any tough grease. Gently scrub the ring with a soft brush. You can use a jewelry brush or toothbrush. Silver should be wiped with a clean jewelry cloth. Once clean, it can be treated with an anti-tarnish solution.

Thirs, put the ring on a clean cloth and spray it with a small amount of jewelry cleaner. Use a clean towel or jewelry cloth to wipe any tarnish off the ring. If your ring is silver, make sure that you use a jewelry cleaner that is safe for silver. The product label will tell you if it is silver safe. If you’re still not sure, talk to your jeweler.

Lastly, store your ring in its original box or in the ring compartment of your jewelry box. This will keep your ring from getting scratched from contact with other jewelry.
